Potential Research Topic (Child Abuse)

Child Abuse:

Child abuse is another research topic I am interested about. I love working with children and care about them. Child abuse is a serious thing. No child should be abused at home, in school or anywhere. Every child should be loved and supported by a great family. Not everyone is lucky to have a supporting loving family but that does not mean a child should be abused.  I want to make a difference for children who do not have a good family life style.  I enjoying working with children and just making them have something positive in their life.

Summary:

This article is about how over the year there has been a study showing that there has been hundreds of thousands of children in the United States of America who have been abused. The types of abuses are physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Child abuse is a very serious thing and is noticed by the public but there are many cases that have not been noticed or unreported. The cases that are noticed by authorities do not have much of a result for the children. There are cases that had no charges to the adult who "abused" the child. The reason for this is because there are questions like what is consider to be child abuse, how to report suspected abuse, and what are the right steps go about child abuse. Child abuse had been debated among many different kinds of people.

Two Details:

The types of abuse have been debated by many people but sexual abuse is seen as child abuse. This is a type of abuse because if someone sexually assault's or causes physical pain to a child is declared as child abuse.

The types of child abuse is debated by many because many people have different religions, morals, and cultures. So different people don't agree about what is child abuse base on what they believe in. Some people see spanking as child abuse some do not see it as child abuse.

Questions:

About how many child abuse cases are unreported?

What are some ways to help prevent child abuse cases from increasing?

A word I don't understand: Remedy

What is stopping you from understanding the word:

I heard of the word and know the definition but the definition I know does not sound right when I read the sentence in the article.

Definition: a medicine or treatment for a disease or injury.

Question you can pose to peers in discussion:

What is your opinion on child abuse?

  1. This is really great Christina. You are doing a really excellent job with this assignment. Remedy means also to right, rectify, solve, sort out, straighten out, resolve, correct, repair, mend, make good, as in "local authorities are working to remedy the situation." I hope that helps.
